Ketonal cream with active ingredient ketoprofen, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory cream (NSAID) with analgesic (pain-relieving), and antipyretic (fever-reducing) properties.
Uses
It is great for short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain of various origins, including:
- Muscle, bone, and joint pain
- Headache
- Pain caused by sprains and strains
- Arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis)
- Postoperative pain
- pain due to bone metastases in patients with tumors
- Rheumatic diseases:

- ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis
- gout, pseudo gout

- extra-articular rheumatism (tendinitis, bursitis, capsulitis of the shoulder joint)
- seronegative arthritis (ankylosing spondylitis /Bechterew’s disease/, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis /Reiter’s syndrome/
Ketonal cream inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by blocking the enzyme cyclooxygenase (cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)), which catalyzes the synthesis of prostaglandins in the metabolism of arachidonic acid.
How to Use:
Gently rub a thin layer of cream into clean, dry skin 2 times a day or as needed3, and wash your hands afterwards.
