Furadonin nitrofurantoin 50mg 10 tabs
It is an antibiotic used to treat and prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs), particularly bladder infections. It works by killing bacteria in the urine. It is commonly taken with food in doses of 50–100 mg four times daily for treatment, or once daily for prevention.
It has a bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect on urinary tract infections. Nitrofurantoin is active against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., and Proteus spp.
It is primarily effective against urinary tract infections.
Uses:
Specifically treats lower UTIs and bladder infections (cystitis) caused by susceptible bacteria.
Mechanism of Action:
Acts as an antibacterial agent that kills or stops the growth of bacteria in the urinary tract.
Dosage & Administration:
Take orally 4 times daily for 7 days, preferably with food to improve absorption.
