Zentel albendazole is a dewormer. It works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), thereby depleting their energy level. Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anti-worm medication used to treat various parasitic infections, including:
- Neurocysticercosis:An infection of the nervous system caused by pork tapeworms.
- Hydatid disease:An infection caused by dog tapeworms that affects the liver, lungs, and other organs.
- Intestinal worm infections:These include pinworms, roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms.
Indications for use:
enterobiosis;
ankylostomidosis and nekatorosis;
hymenolepidosis;
taeniasis;
strongyloidiasis;
ascariasis;
trichocephaly;
clonorchosis;
opisthorchosis;
cutaneous Larva Migrans syndrome;
giardiasis in children;
